The risk assessment model considers the risks associated with Powdered Infant Formula (PIF) that is intrinsically contaminated with C. sakazakii. Specifically, it examines the impact of different preparation and handling strategies on C. sakazakii in PIF and describes the outputs in terms of the relative risk posed to infants. In addition the model provides the facility to explore the possible impact of microbiological criteria through the specification of sampling plans for C. sakazakii in PIF in terms of the expected risk reduction.
If you are unfamiliar with the model please see Using The Model for step by step guidance on how to use the model.
